Matt Pelletier (Version #1)

Matt Pelletier first discovered Ruby (and Rails) in early 2005. He is the founder of the NYC Ruby on Rails group, which he merged with Francis Hwang’s NYC Ruby group to form NYC.rb.

Matt is a partner at EastMedia, a NYC-based software, consulting and business development shop. EastMedia hosted the NYC.rb meetings until they grew too large and had to be moved to a larger space.

Matt is the co-author of the official Mongrel book along with Zed Shaw?. The book was released in October 2006.

In conjunction with technology partner VeriSign, EastMedia provided commercial sponsorship of Mongrel for the Apache Heraldry project, where it serves as a key component of the first full-stack implementation of OpenID. Matt spoke at RailsConf 2006 about OpenID, and hosts helpful information at EastMedia’s Identity Wiki
